Prayer Week

So prayer week is over, but it was a fantastic week for New Hope Community Church. I’m sure if you came to any of the events we held, you will know what I’m talking about. Although the Monday prayer meeting didn’t officially happen, Tuesday’s was packed, loads of people turned up, and it was a really powerful time. Wednesday was a day of focusing on the need for a new building. We had a continuous 12 hours of prayer throughout the day, as well as many of us fasting, so that we could focus even more on God, whist also praying for people in other countries who are not able to even have one proper meal in the day. Wednesday was also a special day for me because we taught the kids in Hope Kids about Daniel and how he refused to stop praying even though he could be executed. And the kids told us who they wanted to pray for and we finished praying for them. It was a brilliant day, and you can really see how God is blessing what we are doing.

Right so I’ve been working really hard on the website. The New Hope and Hope Kids pages have drastically changed. New Hope now has a proper sermon download section, and we have acquired the equipment to start recording sermons, so this will be functional from this Sunday. Also the Hope Kids page has become much more interactive. Kids can now come online and read about what they have been learning in Hope Kids as well as find songs and clips from Hope Kids favourite, Veggie Tales. The new Hope Kids fun stuff section lets kids know how to play some of our games, how to make our latest craft and how to cook our latest recipe so they can show it off to their family and friends. A Fun Filled Day

Today has been a great day. We have began to teach our new bible heroes programme in Hope Kids and I feel it has been a great start. We have started with Esther, which made all the girls happy, and it seems to have been received well. I think we are well on our way to achieving our goal with this series, to get kids excited about the bible. Next week we conclude our teachings about Esther, and the kids are gunna get a special visit from Esther herself lol. I’ll keep you posted about everything that’s happening in Hope Kids.

I also have been to the cinema today to see Slumdog Millionaire. All I can say is you all need to see this film. Best film I have seen in a long time.

Okay so I’ve made a few big changes to the Hope Corner site, and I think you’re all going to really love them. You will have already noticed that the navigation bar has changed, as seen above, it’s much less messy and everyone should be able to find everything quicker using it. All media including movies, photos, podasts and blogs have been moved to one place, which seems much more logical for the site. There are some other changes I have made and are still making, but I’ll leave you to find them for yourself. Have fun surfing.

Baby Benjamin Is Here!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you’ve had a fantastic christmas as well. Can’t wait for what’s in store for us this year, including alpha, which of course is in the not so distant future.

Of course the main point here is to say that Benjamin arrived on December 23rd, well and healthy, which has made this Christmas even more special for the Tunningley - Finch family. We thank God for Him and thank you for all your prayers and support.

Here’s to another blessed and successful year at New Hope Community Church.
